Jennifer Vanderlaan, PhD, MPH CNM

Jennifer has been an AWHONN member since 2009 and was selected for the Emerging Leader program in 2015. She has presented at the AWHONN Annual Convention and published in both Nursing for Women’s Health and JOGNN. She joined the faculty at UNLV School of nursing in 2019 and researches maternal health systems. She is excited to serve as Chair of the Nevada Section and looks forward to building a strong community of perinatal nurses across the state.

Janice Enriquez, DNP CNM

Janice is new to AWHONN and has been a nurse and a full-scope midwife in Las Vegas for over 20 years. She’s worked in several nursing specialties including oncology, obstetrics, and breast care. Her personal goal is to improve outcomes for Nevada’s maternal and child populations and to teach future nurses. As secretary/treasurer, Janice brings decades of clinical experience and a deep commitment to Nevada’s maternal and child health community to the section leadership team.

We are looking for members to help grow the Nevada Section. Volunteer leadership opportunities include:

• Chapter Chairs – lead local AWHONN connections in your area.
• Social Media Coordinator – help us build our online presence and keep members informed
• Legislative Chair – represent Nevada perinatal nurses in advocacy efforts
